A summer high school theater production in Orange County is raising money for a special cause.

Ticket sales for the upcoming performances of “Peter Pan” at Monroe-Woodbury's High School will go toward scholarships that pay for performing arts costs students may otherwise be unable to afford.  The scholarships are part of the Robert Souza Foundation.

The foundation started in 1980 and was named after a Monroe-Woodbury High School band teacher who passed away.

“Over the last several decades, we've given more than $100,000 worth of scholarship money to performing arts Monroe-Woodbury students,” says director Jacob Gardner.

The students will perform in four weekend shows.

The Robert Souza Foundation gives dozens of scholarships to Monroe-Woodbury students in all grades, each year.
