Thunderstorms, hail, damaging winds possible today
As if the Hudson Valley didn’t have enough to deal with, severe weather could cause power outages and flooding today.
News 12 meteorologists say showers and a few thunderstorms are possible through this afternoon. The storms will have the capability of producing strong winds and the chance for small hail. A wind advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., and gusts could hit between 35 and 45 mph. This may lead to a downed trees, branches and power outages.
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for southern Westchester until 2 p.m.
The bulk of the storms should leave the region by later this afternoon, but there could be isolated passing rain or snow showers this evening with lows around 37 degrees.
Friday is expected to be a mix of clouds and sun with highs around 50 degrees. Saturday will have mostly sunny skies with a high of 52 degrees. Easter Sunday will see sunshine followed by increasing clouds with highs around 60.
