? Hundreds of Bronx residents lined the streets of Throgs Neck to honor veterans in the 24th Annual Veterans Day Parade Sunday.
The parade, led by Grand Marshal Kenny Champlin, took place along East Tremont Avenue. Champlin served in the U.S. Navy in 1959.
?The parade brings people out and shows the men and women who sacrificed for the country,? Champlin says. ?It's amazing.?
Organizers say they avoided the setbacks experienced last year, when half of the parade?s participants were delayed due to a marathon. This year, they say, the great weather and enthusiasm from the crowd resulted in a fun day and a great show of support for Americans currently serving, and those who have served, in the armed forces.
