Three-alarm fire rages through Yonkers senior housing complex
A three-alarm fire raged through a senior citizens housing complex Friday, prompting the evacuation of more than 100 residents.
Firefighters say the fire started in a fifth-floor apartment around 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Manor on Croton Terrace. Fire officials say a resident on the top floor didn?t hear someone banging on his door as a warning to to get out of the building. Firefighters then flew into action and rescued the elderly man with a tower ladder.
At least one firefighter was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
