The Clarkstown community honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country this morning.
The annual Memorial Day Tribute was held at the Street Community Center in New City.
The usually packed and popular event was limited to a small group, all practicing social distancing.
The Color Guard fired off a rifle salute and local officials shared their gratitude and words of hope. "I want you to know on Memorial Day, someone, somewhere that served with your loved one is remembering. You are not alone.  They are not forgotten," says Susan Branam, Rockland County Director of Veterans Services.
Wreaths were also hung at the town's Promenade of Heroes Garden.
