The latest 'it' condiment? Custom-blended ketchup
Looking to spice up your next dish? Well, look no further than a bottle of ketchup.
Tinkering with flavor combinations for a year, chef Andy Blackman has perfected handcrafted ketchup blends from a commercial kitchen in Hunts Point. Some of his concoctions include bacon, refreshing cilantro lime, spicy habanero and honey apple chai.
Foodies are taking notice of his brand, NY Chup. "People just love it," says Blackman. "I do tastings at flea markets and street fairs. People are just blown away. They can't believe that ketchup tastes so good."
NY Chup is available at six stores in New York, including Garden Gourmet Market in Riverdale.
