Tensions are rising across the nation less than 24 hours before Election Day, with many concerned about possible violence following Tuesday's vote.

Businesses across the country are boarding up and preparing for possible violent protests after a brutal presidential campaign fraught with divisive rhetoric.

A caravan of Trump supporters gathered on the Gov. Mario Cuomo Bridge and in other communities across the tri-state area this weekend. Rockland resident Gary Peterkin is among those feeling on edge.

"I see a lot of drive-bys, and I see a lot of people tooting horns, and blocking off the Tappan Zee. It's a danger to everybody," he says.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer says he doesn't expect to see any election-related violence.

"In Westchester County, we have a reasonable sense of security that we will not be touched by those kinds of concerns," he says.

The White House is also preparing for any possible violent protests. A "non-scaleable" fence is being built around the White House and 250 National Guardsmen have reportedly been put on standby in the nation's capital.
