Tenant pitches tent to protest building conditions
A tenant, fed up over what she calls deplorable conditions in her Dobbs Ferry apartment building, set up a tent outside the complex in protest.
Kathleen Hart says she is afraid to live in Beacon Hill Garden Apartments. Hart claims since March, electrical surges coming from a transformer have blown out her neighbors? TVs and radios and almost started a fire in her home. She says her surge protector completely melted, causing smoke to permeate the entire apartment.
Hart has taken photos of the damage and is determined to stay out in the tent until the electrical problems are fixed.
North American Properties Group, that owns the complex, says Con Edison repaired the lines from the transformer into the building and hired a contractor to replace the transformer.
