(05/29/06) YONKERS ? A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Monday on Walnut Street and Oliver Avenue in the Nodine Hill section of Yonkers.
Police say the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. when a shooter opened fire. Investigators do not have a motive for the shooting. In addition, no one has been taken into custody in connection with the crime.
Residents in the area say extremely violent crimes are very rare in their neighborhood. They say they hope police catch the shooter quickly. Investigators do not believe the shooting was gang related. The victim?s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
