A Bronx teenager is in custody after allegedly attacking and robbing a woman carrying a baby.
Alonzo Brown, who has 11 prior arrests, was charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of stolen property. The 18-year-old apologized as he was escorted out of the police station and says he did not know the woman had a baby with her.
Police say Brown kicked the woman from behind, causing her to fall. He then allegedly took off with her cellphone.
The 24-year-old woman, who had her 2-month-old son strapped to her chest in a baby carrier, says she fell to the side so she wouldn't crush the baby. The woman says her arm is still sore from the fall, but she is relieved her son was not hurt.
