The Yonkers Teachers Union president rallied a crowd of parents and teachers at Saunders High School Tuesday night in an effort to send a message to Albany to balance the district's budget.
The troubled school district is facing a $28 million budget gap, and frustrated staff and parents say they will no longer take no for an answer from Albany.
The group says it needs to go to Albany because it is the only place Yonkers will get the money it needs to balance the district's budget.
The cuts could include music, art and sports, as well as teaching, security and staff positions.
Yonkers got the $28 million in its budget last year because of an accounting error. There were never any promises that they would receive it again.
