A new task force put in place by Gov. Andrew Cuomo is saying some restaurants and bars are not complying with all coronavirus regulations.
Cuomo announced Friday that the task force conducted nearly 1,100 compliance checks over three days, and found 84 establishments were violating regulations.
Fourteen Hudson Valley restaurants and bars were on that list. Among those establishments were Earnie's Wine Bar and Eats in Bronxville and the Lfonso Cabrera in New Rochelle.
Businesses were forced to close their doors back in March under state mandates as officials tried to stop the spread of COVID-19. Restaurants and bars have been allowed to operate at 50% capacity in Phase 4 of reopening.
Businesses not complying with guidelines can face fines up to $10,000, while greater violations can result in suspensions.
This week, the state Liquor Authority suspended 10 establishment licenses in New York City.
Cuomo says there will be active enforcement against bars and restaurants violating health regulations, tweeting, "Partiers be warned: There will be active enforcement against bars and restaurants violating health regulations."
