Tarrytown-based biotech company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is stepping in to try and treat the coronavirus.

Tarrytown-based biotech company Regeneron Pharmaceuticals is stepping in to try and treat the coronavirus.    
"We started immunization. We have tubes with lots of antibodies in them. Over the course of the next few weeks, we are going to screen them for the best couple that we think could block this virus. Then, we are going to use our tricks to immediately get our scale up and make 200,000 prophylactic doses by August timeframe," says Regeneron CEO Leonard Schleifer.

The CEO says human testing of a possible treatment could begin as early as August.
Once the drug is clinically tested and approved, they will be able to make it available on a large scale.
