The Tarrytown fire chief helped fulfill the Christmas wish of a little boy on the West Coast.
Tarrytown Fire Chief Bryan Meade says he got an email from a mother in Washington state desperately looking for a specific collectible of their blue and silver Tarrytown Ladder truck 78.
Angela Berg says it wasn’t available online, and it was the only thing her 10-year-old son, who has autism, wanted for Christmas.
Chief Meade found one, and he mailed it to the Berg family in Washington.
"It was great to be able to reach out and give back something that to us is such a small thing, but when you see the reaction of the YouTube video of Taylor and how passionate and happy he was to receive it," he said.
Taylor’s parents say they’re overwhelmed with joy and didn’t expect their son’s reaction to be so boisterous…because they say he’s usually not as expressive with his emotions.
