Local communities are gearing up ahead of the storm, including the village of Tarrytown.
Some boat owners at the Washington Irving Boat Club Marina are preparing to take their vessels out to safer waters.
Village officials tell News 12 they are not anticipating much flooding, but crews were out clearing catch basins.
Tarrytown took a beating during Superstorm Sandy back in 2012. The storm brought down trees onto power lines.
A boat owner told News 12 that he's not taking chances.
"You're always concerned when strong winds come through, and we just got a brand-new boat. We don't want to see it scratched up or see anything happen to it," says boat owner Jeff Mauro.
Other residents say they are not concerned. Peggy Mars says for storm preps, she's just going to take the plant off her terrace.
Tarrytown officials also say the village's Public Works Department is preparing all its equipment.
