Temporary road closures are expected over the upcoming weeks as a result of the continued demolition of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Tappan Zee Constructors is installing new concrete slabs near the bridge's Westchester landing. The work will create a new base roadway for the twin-span crossing's connection to the Thruway when the second span opens later this year.
Drivers can expect some overnight lane closures on the northbound New York State Thruway, I-87 and I-287.
Closures will begin Friday night around 8 p.m. Lanes are expected to reopen around 6 a.m. Saturday morning. At least one lane will remain open at all times during this work.
Work will also require closing the northbound Thruway Exit 9 on-ramp at Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.
The closures are expected to continue through May.
