A suspended high school student was caught impersonating a New Rochelle police officer.
The teen, whose name is not being released, apparently decided to play a practical joke on his fellow students Tuesday morning.
He reportedly dressed up as a New Rochelle police officer and started crossing students at the intersection of Eastchester Road and White Oak Street in New Rochelle, which is right outside the high school.
Police say he was wearing a homemade police uniform.
Officials were reportedly called to the intersection after someone noticed the fake cop acting in an odd manner.
The sophomore jokester was reportedly shaking hands and play-fighting with students after taking them across the busy intersection.
Police confirm the teen was a part of the MTA Police "Explorers" program, a program for teens interested in becoming police officers.
No charges were filed and the suspended practical joker was turned over to his not amused father.
