Three suspects in a smash-and-grab robbery at The Westchester mall in Downtown White Plains are still on the loose.
Police say the robbers, armed with guns and hammers, smashed glass displays full of watches at the luxury store Tourneau while the store was open.
A security guard in the store pulled out a gun and tackled one of the robbers before falling through a glass window. All three suspects eventually escaped.
Many shoppers fled the mall in fear. "We saw a mom pulling her son down an escalator. He fell and she just [kept] dragging him. I was like 'What is going on?'" says witness Aryn Moorehead.
Other than to say business is back to normal, mall officials said they wouldn't comment further because of an active police investigation.
