There is bad news for gym owners continuing to feel the crippling effects of coronavirus.
A new survey from TD Ameritrade found that 59% of 2,000 people polled do not plan to renew their memberships.
Charlie Cassara, owner of SC Fitness, has formed a class action lawsuit against the state for not letting gyms reopen.
Despite the survey, he still has faith that most of his customers will return. "We can showcase that we can open effectively - once given that chance. So may it gonna take a little while to win everybody back? But I think that's no different than every other industry- right?"
Cassara's lawsuit currently has more than 600 plaintiffs including some in the Hudson Valley. A judge is set to hear arguments via Skype on Aug. 20.
