A new study shows New York City is one of the top three cities in the United States where drivers face the worst traffic delays.
According to transportation data analyzing firm INRIX, New Yorkers lost an average 117 hours to traffic congestion in 2022. The result is a 15% increase from the year before.
The top five cities in the United States listed by INRIX are: Chicago, Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Miami with over 100 hours. Globally, England's capital city London clocked in 156 hours of traffic congestion in 2022.
INRIX predicts delays and congestion will worsen in 2023 unless a recession forces people to change their driving behavior.
