Students back at school following death of girl
The village of Croton-on-Hudson is mourning the death of 6-year-old Lacey Carr.
Police say David Carr found his daughter unconscious and unresponsive at her mother's home at 144 Hastings Ave. on Sunday afternoon. The child's mother, 51-year-old Kathleen Dymes, was also found unresponsive. The father and mother do not live together.
The mother remains in critical condition at Phelps Memorial Hospital.
Students returned to Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School for the first time since their classmate died. School officials offered students counseling teams and other online resources to help them cope with the tragedy.
Police continue to investigate how Lacey Carr died.
