A seal that has been stranded on a New Rochelle pier for more than a day and a half doesn?t seem to want to leave. Local fishermen were originally worried that the three-foot seal may have been injured. When they found out it wasn?t, they said it must have been in the area looking for food. On Monday morning, animal control officers were able to coax the seal back into the water, but it decided to go back on the pier. Officials from the Humane Society tried to rescue the harp seal, but say they were out of their league since they usually deal with cats and dogs.
