Bowling alleys across the Hudson Valley and the state will reopen their doors for the first time since March.

Homefield Bowl in Yonkers is one of dozens of facilities across the region that opened today with new safety precautions in place.

Bowling alleys will only be able to operate at a 50% occupancy, face coverings and social distancing will be required at all times and every other lane must be closed. Bowlers must stay with a party at their assigned lane. There will also be limited food and drink service.

Alleys also must have cleaning and disinfecting protocols in place, especially for shared equipment. “When you're finished bowling, there's going to be time in between the next party coming on to clean all the bowling balls, the settee area, where you bowl. People want to bowl. The phone was ringing constantly," says Michael Limekiller, operator and manager at Homefield Bowl.
