Superstorm Sandy brought devastation to the area in 2012, as well as to communities along the Hudson River and inland as well.

Lawmakers say they are preparing for the worst and urge the rest of us to do the same. "I think better safe than sorry. I'd rather be prepared and have people be prepared and its nothing then have people be unprepared and it hits us," says Mamaroneck Mayor Tom Murphy.
No one at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck says they boats need to come out of the water but everything certainly needs to be secure.
Charlie Cianci, of Harrison, says he came down to the marina to do one last check before the storm blows in. "I just came down to really check, make sure things are tied up, make sure there's nothing that will blow out of the boat."
