Mid-Hudson Region still not hitting 2 benchmarks in order to reopen

Parts of New York state are officially reopening, but our area, categorized as the Mid-Hudson Valley region, will have to wait.
The region is still only meeting five of the seven metrics. The two missing metrics are:
  • 14-day decline in hospital deaths or fewer than five deaths per day (three-day rolling average)
  • New hospitalizations per day (two per 100,000 residents, three-day rolling average)
While the hospitalization rate is falling, the death rate is still way too high. "The number of lives lost is also down. Still terrible and tragic, but headed in right direction so all arrows are in right direction," says Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Five upstate regions have been given the green light to restart Phase One of their economies.
The Mid-Hudson Region consists of Ulster, Dutchess, Sullivan, Orange, Putnam, Westchester and Rockland counties.
