Bicycle Sundays return to Westchester Sunday, where the Bronx River Parkway will swap cars for cyclists.

Even more warm weather is expected to accompany the tradition that has stuck in the county for more than 40 years.

The event shuts down the BRP -- it begins on Main Street in White Plains and continues south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers.

Officials are asking those who participate to abide by social distancing guidelines and wear masks. But even with those recommendations, some don't feel that it's enough.

"Over 1,000 people in Westchester County have already died" from coronavirus, says Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. "I really think the safest thing for the county to do is to postpone Bicycle Sundays."

Feiner, an avid bicyclist himself, plans to enjoy the outdoors somewhere more quiet and distanced from crowds.

"I go on roads where there's not any other cyclists and not a lot of pedestrian traffic, it's just safer," he says.
