Putnam County received 100 coronavirus test kits from the state and used it all Tuesday in a pop-up drive-thru in the parking lot of the county's Health Department.
At least 15 people in the county have died from coronavirus, and more than 400 people have tested positive.
Only people who are symptomatic and an essential worker were able to get tested, due to the limited supply of tests.
This is the fourth batch of test kits the state has sent to the county. Each time this happens, a one-time pop-up site opens just for the day.
Afterward, Putnam residents are asked to make appointments in neighboring counties if necessary.
The county's health commissioner says it's unknown whether the state will run a site in Putnam. But he says receiving the 100 test kits is a step in the right direction and that he hopes to receive more in the near future.
