Many schools reopened today after shutting down to disinfect due to coronavirus concerns.

The reopening schools included the Mount Vernon School District, after a mother of two students may have had direct contact with the New Rochelle attorney who was the first coronavirus patient in Westchester.

Students and teachers in Mamaroneck were returning to school after the district did a deep cleaning over the weekend after a parent tested positive for coronavirus. In a letter to the community, the district said the patient's children attend Chatsworth Avenue School and Mamaroneck High School.

The Hastings-on-Hudson School District also reopened after exposure concerns there.

John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Port Chester, which closed early Friday after a family member of two students was believed to have been in close contact with someone with the virus, was back in session.

Primrose Elementary School in Somers will open Tuesday after a parent of a student there tested positive for coronavirus.
