Rockland County nonprofit offers free resources for residents struggling with mental illness

A Rockland County nonprofit organization is offering free resources for residents in the community struggling with mental illness.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Rockland, a nonprofit based in Orangeburg, offers free support, advocacy and education for those living with mental health issues as well as their loved ones. The organization says it helped more than 3,000 people last year alone.
"Everyone who works at NAMI, or is a teacher, or a support group facilitator is also a family member and that makes NAMI a really safe place for families to come and seek support,” says Community Relations Manager Heidi Vandiver.
The organization says any questions can be asked through their hotline at 845-359-8787.
