Dead crows found in Middletown test negative for common viruses

The mystery of the several dead crows found in Middletown remains unsolved after tests for diseases came back negative.
Dead crows were found behind the Price Chopper grocery store in Middletown earlier this week. Over four dozen deceased crows were found behind several businesses in the Wallkill Town Center on Schutt Road a few weeks ago.
According to the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation, all tests for common viruses known to affect crows came up negative. They say samples were taken from the deceased birds on four different occasions.
Officials say they've also ruled out poisoning and are considering several other possibilities.
