A candlelight vigil was held Friday night at the Finkelstein Library as the community remembered stabbing victim Sandra Wilson.
Hundreds of friends, family members and even those who never met her, came together to celebrate Wilson’s life.
The 52-year-old mother of three was stabbed to death at Finkelstein Memorial Library on Tuesday as she worked her shift as a security guard.
Blanchard Glaudin, 25, is facing second-degree murder charges in Wilson's killing. He has pleaded not guilty.
Wilson's brother says he forgives her alleged killer, but will never forget what was taken away from their family.
"I forgive him, but I can’t forgive how my sister was murdered. We are devastated, we are shocked," said Wilson’s brother, Marvin Heyward.
Longtime co-worker Jessica Gordon was in the library when accused killer Blanchard Glaudin allegedly stabbed Wilson after she asked him to turn down his loud music.
"I, fortunately, was not on the third floor where Sandra was. I don't know if I could have handled that,” Gordon says. “I was in our children's office and honestly, we didn't even know what was happening."
A funeral service for Wilson is set for noon on Monday at First Baptist Church at 6 Hoyt St. in Spring Valley. She will then be laid to rest at the Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead.
Wilson is survived by her two sons, a daughter, her mother and brother.
