After Puerto Rico experienced a number of earthquakes this month, many big-time musicians are getting ready to perform Friday night at Lehman Center to raise money and send care back to the island.
"We have assembled a group of artists from Puerto Rico and the Bronx the likes of that you've never seen before. Eight-time Grammy award winner Eddie Palmieri is participating under the direction of Bobby Allende. These are musical talents that have been nominated for Grammys," said organizer Freddy Perez.
The concert is being held in efforts to bring attention and raise money for the people of Puerto Rico. At the show, they say you can expect to feel a little sorrow and happiness.
They say those attending may feel sorrow because the island is suffering, but happiness because they'll see talented performers right before their eyes, in one place for a good reason.
"It's not just one day during the Puerto Rican Day Parade that we as Puerto Ricans come out. We need to come out in force tomorrow and show that the Bronx is with you Puerto Rico," said Perez.
The show begins at 7 p.m. Information on tickets is available on their website.
