Swastika, racial slur found at Sleepy Hollow schoolPosted: Updated:
Another symbol of hate was found in a school in Westchester.
Sleepy Hollow School District officials say a member of their custodial staff discovered a swastika and a racial slur in a school bathroom.
Sleepy Hollow Superintendent Christopher Borsari, in a letter to parents, said police were notified about the swastika and racial slur etched into a toilet paper dispenser in the middle school and high school.
Drawn swastikas have been reported in Pelham Middle School as well as high schools in Scarsdale, Pleasantville and Ossining in recent months.
There is a bill hitting the floor in the legislative session that would require age-appropriate lessons on hate symbols in the classroom.
School officials say they are investigating who is responsible and that the behavior will never be tolerated.
