Officials: Pilot killed in MD crash was en route to Westchester County Airport

A plane involved in a deadly crash in Maryland on Sunday was en route to Westchester County Airport, officials say.
The small aircraft crashed into a home's carport in Lanham, killing the pilot, who authorities say was the only person onboard.
Maryland State Police have identified the victim as Gordon Allen, 61, of the Bronx.
According to the FAA, the plane had just departed College Park Airport.
Investigators say the home was empty at the time, and nobody else was hurt.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
