Nyack Homeless Project sorts through donations for people in need

Organizations and students across Rockland County are giving back to those in need during this season of giving.
The Key Clubs from Nyack High School, Spring Valley High School and others helped to distribute clothing and food to the people who need it most during the holiday season.
"l know there are a lot of people out there that need help and it's fun to give back on the holidays," says student volunteer Donte James.
The annual Nyack Homeless Project Sorting Party prepared the donations for more than 8,000 people in need throughout the county. Gathering for donations occurs throughout the year and are distributed during the holiday season.
Joe Hazucha of the Nyack Homeless Project spoke highly of the hundreds of volunteers who lend their services, saying in part, “Everybody in there puts service before self and that's the whole principal of this organization."
The Nyack Homeless Project has support from 35 different locations that plan to assist with distributing the donations. To make a tax-deductible donation, visit the Nyack Homeless Project or mail donations to Nyack Homeless Project: P.O. Box 164, Nyack, NY 10960.
