‘Operation Blue Santa’ brings holiday cheer to New Rochelle children

The season of giving was in full-swing in New Rochelle Sunday with “Operation Blue Santa.”

For five years now, volunteers from the New Rochelle Police, the New Rochelle PBA and the New Rochelle Police Foundation loaded up a convoy of police vehicles with donated toys. Later on, they went around the city to hand out the toys and gifts to unsuspecting children.

The volunteers did not just give presents to the children they saw across the city, but also made special stops to families in need.
