Pro-impeachment rally held in White Plains

Posted: Updated:

Dozens of people came together in White Plains Sunday for pro-impeachment rallies.

Congress is set to vote this week on whether to impeach President Donald Trump.

Activists in White Plains say they gathered to urge Congress to go through with the vote.

Indivisible White Plains and other protesters came together as part of the of the nationwide Nobody is Above the Law rallies.

This movement intends to show federal lawmakers that local constituents support the impeachment process.

The House has been investigating whether President Donald Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine unless the country helped him investigate his potential political opponents for the 2020 election.

If the vote passes this week, the Republican-led Senate will hold a trial to potentially remove the president from office.

Hundreds of similar rallies are expected to take place nationwide on Tuesday - the night before Congress votes.
