Study: Food labels should list amount of exercise needed to burn off calories

A new medical study out of the United Kingdom suggests that food should be labeled based on how much exercise it would take to burn off the calories shown on the item.
Some shoppers thought the idea was great, but also a bit of a bummer.
"I don't want to know," says Betty Haas, of Bellmore. "I don't want to know. I just want to enjoy my food, especially with the holidays coming. Yes it doesn't apply until Jan. 1 or Jan. 2."
News 12 spoke with medical professionals who thought the idea would be helpful for those trying to lose weight.
Dr. John Zaso says having food labels that tell you how much exercise is needed to burn calories would make people think twice about what they are consuming.
For example, eating one bagel is 320 calories so a person would have to plan on jogging for one hour and splurging on a doughnut at 350 calories would require a 35-minute swim or 54-minute walk.
