Melville man convicted of murder in shooting of Brooklyn pizzeria owner

A Melville man was found guilty Monday in the murder of a well-known pizzeria owner in Brooklyn.
Police say Andres Fernandez shot and killed Louis Barbati during a botched robbery in June of 2016 outside Barbati's home in Gravesend.
Barbati, who owned the famous L and B Spumoni Gardens pizzeria, was carrying a bag with $15,000 at the time.
Police say the bag was left behind. Fernandez faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced next month.
