Police say a man was killed after his van was struck head-on by an SUV in Dutchess County Friday.

They say the 50-year-old Pleasant Valley man was struck on Route 55 in the Town of Beekman.

Authorities say the victim's Chevy Express van was struck by an 18-year-old driver who crossed into oncoming traffic.

One of the men riding in the van had to be airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition.

A 22-year-old passenger also in the van and the 18-year-old driver of the other vehicle involved were both taken to hospitals.                     

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
