Embroiled former New Rochelle High School Football Coach Lou DiRienzo has been accused of unlawful contact by a student, according to authorities.
Yonkers police say a high school student alleged the unlawful contact happened back in the 1980s.
Police issued a statement saying, in part, “that due to the nature of the allegations…any potential criminal charges would not be eligible for prosecution.”
DiRienzo was reassigned from his coaching duties in New Rochelle earlier this month. The school district has not commented on the latest allegation or why he was reassigned.
The reassignment has caused an uproar, including multiple protests at City Hall as the school's team battles for a state title.
