Authorities: Gunman threat at Felix Festa Middle School ‘not credible’

Posted: Updated:

Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack was placed in a lockdown around 2:30 p.m. Thursday after authorities say an adult male called the school to tell them there was a gunman inside.

The call prompted a large police response and search of the school while students and staff waited inside.

Rockland BOCES nearby was also placed on a lockdown as a precautionary measure.

Authorities say the threat was not credible and that no one was injured or ever put in danger.

On Wednesday night, police say a male claiming to be a student also phoned in a threat to Felix Festa that police say was a hoax. Officials say they don't know yet if the two incidents are related.
