Turkey Trot held to raise money for Mount Pleasant public schools

Westlake High School played host to a foundation's seventh annual Turkey Trot on Sunday.
The 5K race and fun run is to benefit the Mount Pleasant Education Foundation, which raises money for educational programs throughout the district.
Residents participated in a 5K run while children jumped rope and listening to music.
"The Mount Pleasant Education Foundation raises money to donate supplies to the school district that will enhance education that falls outside of the budget that they can afford," said Melissa Acciavatti of the foundation.
The foundation's donations go to Mount Pleasant public schools. They've been able to use money to buy drones and virtual reality equipment.
