Police: Man shot, robbed on street in Wyandanch

Police say a man was shot and robbed on the street in Wyandanch Saturday night.
Officers were called to North 11th Street and Straight Path around 10:50 p.m.
They say when they arrived, they found the 34-year-old victim with two gunshot wounds to his legs.
Police say he was assaulted, shot and robbed by a man who then took off. Police say the victim was likely targeted by his attacker.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening. It is not clear what was stolen from the victim.
They say two parked cars were also struck by bullets. The vehicles were impounded as evidence.
Another shooting happened at the same intersection in late October. That time, investigators say bullets were fired at two men sitting in a car. One victim was struck in the arm and the other was not injured.
Police do not believe the two incidents are connected.
