Greenburgh tests US Postal Service delivery system amid complaints

After hearing multiple complaints about mail delivery across Greenburgh, the town supervisor is testing its postal service.
Longtime Greenburgh resident and Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says he's had enough of the service issues and is taking matters into his own hands.
They are mailing test letters to different locations around Westchester. The tests are being coordinated by a retired postal service manager and put in action by volunteers.
Out of a total of 80 mailings that were sent out, 72 were received on time -- that's 90%, which is still below the postal service standard of 96.5%
Even though 90% may sound good, Feiner says mail delivery complaints keep coming in and even his service is impacted.
Feiner says they plan to continue to do similar tests at least once a month.
The inspector general of the United States Postal Service launched an investigation into the mail service in February of 2018.
According to Feiner, as a result of the probe, staffing changes were made. Hartsdale hired a new post master last year.
