Orangetown paid tribute to the men and women who served the U.S. with a ceremony in their honor ahead of Veterans Day.
Frank Fornario, who served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War, was one of the many veterans honored in Orangeburg Sunday for their service.
"It makes me very happy to know that I'm still being acknowledged,” he says.
The event was supposed to be held outside at the Camp Shanks Walkway of Heroes Park, but instead was held inside Orangeburg Town Hall.
The Camp Shanks Walkway of Heroes was built with the names of more than 1,400 veterans.
