Union workers protest at Millwood Lumber for fair wages, benefits

Posted: Updated:

People came out for a rally Saturday in front of Millwood Lumber to support fair wages and benefits for licensed drivers and yardmen of the company.

Protesters say Millwood Lumber does not provide standard pay when compared to other area workers.

A number of elected officials came out with the union, Teamsters Local 456.

"We came together with the building trades AFL with all the members of all the trades and all the unions stick together in solidarity to show Millwood lumber we're not going away," said Louis Picani, president of Teamsters Local 459.

Millwood Lumber is closed Saturday.
