School Spirit Showdown: New Rochelle High School puts on the Purple Pride

Posted: Updated:

With more than 11,000 votes, New Rochelle High School is the latest winner in News 12’s School Spirit Showdown.

School spirit is clearly evident as the hallways of the school are flooded with purple for their weekly "Purple Pride Friday." "I just love seeing everybody come out wearing their purple showing their pride and everything else like that," says senior Olivia Guilford.

The Huguenots take the win this week with over 11,000 votes!

With about 3,400 students, the Huguenots say they're proud to be part of such a diverse school. "As an Asian American, it's nice to see other Asians who are like me and it's also nice to see a bunch of people of other cultures who I can talk to and relate to,” says student Rachel Kwon. "I think that there's something here for everybody and that's one of the great things about such a big school, I like it here, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else," adds senior Hannah Bases.
