Dryden Street School in Westbury holds Hispanic Heritage Month celebration

Students at the Dryden Street School in Westbury held a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration Friday.
Officials at the school say the students at Dryden are getting a head start on learning the importance of diversity.
Kindergarten students dressed up in traditional Hispanic outfits to perform in front of their families.
Principal Gloria Dingwall told News 12 that using music and dancing is good way “bridge Spanish with the English language,” making learning easier and fun.
The Dryden Street School has children from all backgrounds with both bilingual and general education classes.
