Zoning application pulled on land where dinosaur tracks were found

There is a grassroots effort to save a parcel of land in Rockland County where dinosaur tracks and fossils have been found.
The dinosaur parcel is located between Route 303 and Greenbush Road in Blauvelt.
A developer wants to change the zoning of that area to allow 68 high-density housing units, but an application to change the zoning was pulled Tuesday.
The developer, Ryerson Farms, LLC, says it has no comment.
With the application off the table, residents are now turning their attention to the next phase in their fight to keep the area -- a preservation effort.
The effort could include seeking funding from the county through the open space acquisition program. The end goal is to create an educational component to allow visitors and residents to explore the area.
